Shavonne is an author, designer, and the blog curator for All Things Inspiration. Shavonne hosts a weekly show, Ladies Night Podcast, on iTunes, iHeartRadio, and SoundCloud. She enjoys traveling, fitness, movies and the arts.

Shavonne L. Holton was born and raised in the Midwest and has loved the arts since the age of four. Though she never had formal training, Shavonne was selected to dance during a pre-talk performance for Dr. Maya Angelou at Purdue University in 2003. It would be years later that a quote by Dr. Angelou would fuel Shavonne's mission for VK Press.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.
— Dr. Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

Shavonne performed in various plays and musicals in high school and majored in theatre during her undergraduate studies. After two years of not landing acting roles, as required by her degree program, Shavonne made a pivot and decided to create opportunities for those who may have been overlooked by mainstream. She believed that there were many talented artists that are overlooked for mentorship and opportunities. She would go on to direct, choreograph, and produce over ten shows before returning to school to pursue a masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University. After graduate school, Shavonne began working full-time in higher education at her alma mater before a series of tragic events led her to begin penning her first book in 2016.

She founded VK Press in October 2016 after completing her first book, a memoir, Dating Daddy: Realizing God as Father through Daddy Issues and Bad Romance (VK Press)Shavonne has been featured as a speaker and workshop facilitator to discuss the father-daughter relationship, lessons from love, and faith. In 2018, she published her second book, Writing to Resonate, to empower aspiring self-publishers to write, design, and publicizing in a way that is compelling for both the reader and the writer.

Freelancers are the pulse of VK Press and Shavonne aims to connect independent writers with freelance artists to create globally published content. In 2018, VK Press released Bursting at the Seams: A Collection of Poetry by poet Chantel Massey with hopes to publish another author by the end of the year. Currently, Shavonne is completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, is a full-time educator, and lives in Indianapolis, IN with hopes to spread the brand of VK Press throughout the world.
