Make Reading Cool Again

Meet the Author, the Connoisseur, and the Artist who make up the trifecta of our upcoming event Wine & unMASKing the Strong Black Woman on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

the BOOK

Shavonne Holton is the author of Dating Daddy: Realizing God as Father through Daddy Issues and Bad Romance. In her book, she addresses common themes in romance including a lack of emotional availability with your partner. This theme is the focal point for the event and the discussions that will ensue. What’s more? Holton will host this afternoon of illuminating entertainment on her birthday! (Translation: there will be cake)

the WINE

Nicole Kearney is a brilliant artist, storyteller, and founder of Sip and Share Wine. She has a passion for wines made by African American owned vineyards and shares her experiences through wine-related events, a blog, journals, magazines, and her weekly podcast. During Wine and unMASKing, she will lead guests through a stimulating wine tasting experience and share stories from her travels to the vineyards of our featured wines.

the MASK

Ess McKee is a mixed media artist whose passion for artist expression was ignited during her years spent in Frankfurt, Germany as a child. Her technique is inspired by graffiti art and hip hop culture. During Wine and unMASKing, she will lead guests through a mask painting activity that is sure to get them up out of their seats and dancing until the end.
