2017 is my Leap Year! From January to May, I took chances my former self would have talked me out of.

June was no different. By the time I took the leap to attend the What Women Want conference in NYC, I was beyond petrified! Don’t get me wrong, I was ecstatic to meet conference hosts Sybil Amuti and Brandice Daniel. But I did not know HOW this next leap would be realized. Days before the conference, I surrendered it all. And once I let go of the HOW, God provided a “ram in the bush” for me. I went on the trip with everything I needed and more.

Once at the conference, I immediately felt loved and empowered!

Every speaker, every panel, and every workshop emphasized the importance of taking leaps. I came to the conference with doubts that I could achieve greatness despite my imperfect past. However, Tieko Nejon reassured me that I could LEAP even with the unshakable residue of lingering regrets and shortcomings. Another speaker shared how she LEAPED to launch a platform in an unfamiliar city. An UNFAMILIAR city! The closing speaker paralleled her own LEAP journey with that of a fictional character named Ordinary. Both the speaker and Ordinary were stretched to live a life of purpose and to CONTINUE stretching!

All narratives shared during the conference were rooted in acts of courage. All were examples of prodigious possibilities! I returned home equipped with a blueprint for my journey through Uncharted Territory.

Where is the pull towards the unfamiliar leading you? Feel free to comment below.
