My final interview question to any artist featured on this blog is, “if you could create anywhere, where would it be?” I feel that there are certain spaces that inspire us to create, to build empires from mustard seeds of faith, to dream larger than life visions for our next projects.
For me, I am inspired most from the comforts of a king-sized bed in a hotel room or in a space that reminds me of past adventures in traveling. Most recently, I took a tour of The Speak Easy, a co-working space for entrepreneurs, in downtown Indianapolis. The space reminded me of my favorite hotel experience in N’Orleans several years ago.
Much like that hotel, the walls of Speak Easy were made up of captivating exposed brick. I loved the openness of the atrium and I could clearly see the faces of the people who would fill the space with their glasses of wine. I heard the music from the live band who would be playing in the background. I tasted the cheese that was once pierced by the toothpick that now twiddled between my fingers. My imagination went wild with all of the possibilities to create in this space! Yes, this will be the space for a future VK Press event!
Now I ask you, “If there is any place in the world that you could create, where would it be? Why?” I’d love to know. Drop a line or two in the comments.
