Just Keep Going: Lessons from the Great Wall of China

Let me tell you a secret. I went to China not knowing how I would be able to afford the expenses not covered by my job.  I wish I could say that I knew God would "make a way out of no way." But to be honest, I did not.

I just chose to show up.

On our last day in Beijing, we journeyed to the famous Great Wall of China and it was a day of mixed emotions. This was a traveler's dream! But the rain was not the ideal weather for our visit.

The trip was not cancelled.

Up, up, and away to the Great Wall!

Up, up, and away to the Great Wall!

As we cautiously ascended the long uneven path, the fog cleared and everything about my surroundings was picturesque! Like right off a postcard!

But would this path ever come to an end? After a few miles, it began to feel as if we would never reach the last steps of Mutianyu...today.

But I was determined to see this path to the end!

I knew that God would never bring me only this far to stop here. He is a God of completion. He finishes whatever He begins.

After all, I am in China on FAITH!

Not because I had the money or connections. But by His grace, I am in this place at this time. I could not have designed this on my own.

So I pressed! I braved the steep stairs and increasing heights of the Great Walls of China and my growing faith until the end!
