I’m His Super Woman
Believe it or not, this post was quite difficult for me to write. This month I celebrated my very first Mother’s Day. While still being in shock, I never took the time to reflect on being a mother and the example I want to set for my son.
Being a woman is a gift from God and a gift to mankind but being a mother takes things to another level. Sometimes I still can’t believe that I created and birthed a tiny human. To know that I am responsible for molding Mason into a respectable man is frightening yet empowering.
Being a mom has taught me so many things; about life and myself. Some say I am non-traditional and some probably think I’m a bit protective and I am totally fine with that. God assigned me to Mason for those reasons. I’m his hero! I’ll do whatever it takes to love, nurture and protect him. Even if that means buying diapers and wipes before I feed my Starbucks addiction. Whether the culprit is hunger, boredom, inappropriate activity etc, I am his superhero!
Priorities have shifted and my energy is often depleted but I couldn’t imagine who I would be without my husband and our precious son.
To some, I’m just Nikki. To Mason, I am his: protector, food source, teacher, example of love, friend and comfort. I am his SUPER WOMAN.
