Welcome Kevia Nishe'
Kevia is an inspirational poet/mc with a heart for God. She is a walking testament of how God's infinite grace and mercy trumps the trials and hardships of life. Her message is one of love, hope, and joy.
Poetry has been a part of her vocabulary since the age of six and she has exercised her gift of gab to encourage others. In 2012, Kevia boldly stepped out from behind the paper and pen into a developing artist. Her repertoire includes ghostwriting, emceeing, and has expanded into the ministry of music. Kevia believes that God’s love, grace, and mercy trumps everything!
VKP: Who is your favorite author or writing influence? Why?
KN: My favorite author and poet is Maya Angelou. She was a “root writer”. She wrote from the core. Her words penetrated the heart and mind and promoted wholistic healing, uprooting, knowledge of self/society and relational enlightening to whomever read her art. She was an encouraging flower.
VKP: What is your favorite book or piece of literature?
KN: Right now…the 40 Day Soul Fast by Cindy Trimm. It’s an essential read for wholistic growth and a long life.
VKP: What was the most agonizing book you were required to read?
KN: Ha Ha! How to be An Excellent Wife by Kay Arthur. In my journey of preparing and becoming a wife, it went against every fiber in my being. I wanted to vomit. I cringed after the first chapter and tucked it away. But when I finally finished it…ESSENTIAL!
VKP: Pencil or Pen?
KN: Pencil, definitely pencil.
VKP: If you could create from anywhere in the world, where would it be?
KN: Near large masses of water…Oceanside…daily. On or off a boat. Just God, me, water, the sky, and a breeze…YESSSS!
